It should be remembered that in resort areas, secondary roads are not designed for heavy traffic over the long-term. However, the duration of a graphite mine like that of La Loutre is 15 years, minimum.
In fact, the distance between the mine site and the main roads would become a risk zone, especially in the residential and resort sectors. The exploitation of this graphite would impose constant road traffic on the population concerned. We’re talking about heavy trucks that would travel at the rate of more than 100 vehicles per week.
The employees will have to travel daily (7 days a week) on our roads to get to the mine site.
We estimate that there would be more than 200 truck and vehicle trips per day.
